Avoid sun exposure and tanning beds completely
Discontinue self-tanning products and allow tan to fade
Stop retinoids, AHAs, and BHAs 3-5 days before treatment
Avoid waxing, plucking, or threading in treatment area (shaving only)
Inform provider of any new medications or supplements
Arrive with clean, makeup-free skin in treatment area
For hair removal: shave treatment area 24 hours prior
Avoid caffeine and alcohol before appointment
Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing
Apply sunscreen if arriving during daylight hours
